Windsor's First Digital Hackathon
The University of Windsor is proud to host its inaugural hackathon in March 2020. WinHacks will inspire tech talent locally to get involved in our technology community, ultimately contributing to unlocking the potential of our future programmers, hackers, and designers so that we all make a difference.
This event will be completely hosted online! Approximately 300 students are expected to join us on this three-day event, where all participants will be given 36 hours to come up with their greatest hack. The theme for this hackathon is Mobility! Students are free to interpret the theme however they want.
Participants will be given the opportunity to come up with their greatest creation that will be later presented and judged by a panel of qualified adjudicators and win top tech and cash prizes to be announced!
FREE educational events such as workshops to help hone and adopt new skills in the field of computer science are also on the agenda. We believe that these activities will give contestants a taste of both entrepreneurship and a feel for the work environment that they will soon find themselves.

Miovision Travel Time Challenge
We’ve prepared two datasets from 7 intersections in both Detroit (4) and Windsor (3). The first dataset is Turning Movement Count data for all 7 intersections. The second is a novel dataset where we, for the first time, calculate Travel Time between not just two cities, but two countries. For each Windsor intersection, we’ve compiled Travel Time data to each Detroit intersection, and vice versa. We want to see what you can hack together with this data, and other data based on criteria to be provided. The winning team of this challenge will earn a $1000 prize!
Best UiPath Automation Hack
Build an automation hack using UiPath! Each winning team member will receive a UiPath Branded Backpack.
Honourable Mentions (3)
The Judges for the "Most Innovative Hack against COVID-19" would like to honourably mention participants who have put together some amazing projects!
WinHacks applications are open to students from across the world. Whether you are a freshman or completing your PhD, we want you to apply! We will also be accepting high school students! Each application is reviewed by the WinHacks organizing team!
Your submission must contain a 3-minute video (or less) demo-ing your hack! The best way would be to upload your recording to YouTube and link it in your submission. All submissions must be safe-for-work!

The main consideration for every project should be mobility; that is, the ease of access in any field such as automation, supply chain logistics, fintech, and more. Does your project help people throughout their daily lives?
Build a solution to prepare for a sustainable future in the fields of energy, infrastructure, or social equity.
Is the project new or unique? Have you not seen this idea elsewhere?
Is the project easy to use? Does it look nice? Clean projects show the team's commitment.
